Careers at Focus
We help medical and dental practices stay secure, connected, and focused on patient care. Behind every one of those practices is a Focus teammate who made it possible, and we are hiring more of them.
Why Focus
We are not a faceless IT shop. We are a team of engineers, strategists, and support specialists who share a belief that good technology should make life easier for the clinicians we serve.
Your work keeps providers online, data protected, and patients seen. When a practice cannot access patient records, that is not an abstract ticket. It is a waiting room full of people. The stakes are real, and so is the appreciation when you get it right.
We answer each other's questions, cover each other on call, and celebrate wins together. No lone wolves, no silos. When you are out, someone has your back, and you do the same for them.
Clear career paths, funded certifications, and managers who want to see you level up, not lock you in. We would rather promote you than replace you.
Our Culture
We hire adults and treat them that way. That means trusting each other with real responsibility, giving direct and kind feedback, and keeping the bar high without turning every day into a fire drill.
You will find us on Slack sharing a tricky packet capture one minute and swapping dog photos the next. We take pride in our craft, and in building a team people actually want to stay on.

What we value
These are not poster words. They show up in hiring decisions, performance reviews, and the way we talk to each other.
Say what you mean. Ask the obvious question. A confused teammate is a delayed ticket, and a delayed ticket is a practice waiting on us.
The fix is not complete until the practice is running. We see tickets through, not around. Nobody here closes a ticket and hopes.
Clients and teammates are people first. Direct feedback works best when the trust is already there, so we build the trust first.
Healthcare technology moves fast. Curiosity is part of the job description, not a side project. The day you stop learning in this field is the day you fall behind.

Question, Answer
Yes. Our team works remotely across the United States. Our headquarters is in Chicago, and a small number of roles may be hybrid or based there, but we will always say so clearly in the job posting. You will not find any remote-for-now surprises here.
Not always. For some roles, healthcare experience matters from day one. For others, we care more about your technical skill, your judgment, and your willingness to learn the healthcare context, which we will teach you. If you are strong at what you do and genuinely curious about this industry, apply. The job posting will tell you what is required versus what is a plus.
Fairly and predictably. On-call rotates across the team so it never lands on the same few people, and you will know your schedule in advance. We cover for each other, and nobody is expected to be always on. The goal is to support our clients around the clock without burning out the people who make that possible.
Yes. We talk openly about compensation during the process, walk you through the full picture at offer stage, and tie any bonus structure to clear goals rather than vague discretion.
You start with onboarding and a senior teammate as your guide. In the first month, you get oriented to our clients, our systems, and how we work. By the second and third month, you are taking on real responsibility with support close by. We set clear goals with you up front so you always know what success looks like, and you are never left to figure it out alone.
No we do not.
